Emerging from the South West of England (Cornwall) is new pop-rock-punk-indie trio Damn The Wolves with their debut single also titled Damn the Wolves which is set for release on streaming platforms on 11th November. Impact date November 25th.
The band members, having previously shared stages with the likes of Thunder, Ash, Dr John, Feeder, The Blind Boys of Alabama, have been on an extraordinary journey of discovery. Building a recording studio in singer Jody’s garage the months leading up to the Covid pandemic, the trio then spent the ensuing time honing and creating the band Damn the Wolves –punk rock energy surrounded by an 80’s pop ethos.
The song Damn the Wolves is unapologetically honest, cursing the lives we find ourselves in and the wolves we are haunted by. An array of hooks pushed forward by soaring guitars and an energetic tempo, this first single by the band was recorded in their studio, mixed in the US by Matt Dougherty (Megadeth, 3 Doors Down) and mastered in London by Pete Maher (The 1975, Depeche Mode, Jack White).
Again, taking garage rock literally, an accompanying music video, filmed by award-winning filmmaker Gareth Bartlett, was filmed in guitarist Rick’s garage!
Jody states “We’re super excited to be getting close to unleashing the sound of this band after spending time honing to the point where we are now content with it and the music saying what we wanted it to”
“We’re hoping that the inherent loneliness and isolation, partly fed by the pandemic, alongside the eventual glint of belief and optimism within the songs connects with people and they come and join us on this journey” Rick explains.
Brett adds “It’s been an insular time of exploration and experimentation and we’re pumped to be at the stage of people getting to hear what we’ve been up to”

Quote about Damn the Wolves:
Written by Rick and Jody in Autumn 2020 from lyrics written by Rick the previous year.
The song is about finding someone that will help keep the wolves away, the haunting self-doubts, insecurities, loneliness and making a bold leap of faith to trusting someone. Giving yourself up, giving up running, but instead finding something you believe in and will fight for.
Musically the song stemmed from a heavily syncopated, off beat guitar chord verse idea that just wouldn’t work or sit right, that I kept persisting in playing to the other guys! Eventually it evolved into the current verse and the chorus was crafted with Jody with his strong ability to write killer, hook- y melodies. -Rick
