The Mease are the five piece Derby based indie psych-pop outfit consisting of Tristan Cooper on lead vocals/guitar, Guy Smith on lead guitar, Adam Goulding on  keys, Jon Wright  on drums and Mo Hussain on bass/percussion.

The band are  one of the biggest  followed new indie bands on the scene right now and they are on a self declared mission to bring back the golden era of indie rock n roll and they seem set to do this, having had their sound likened to such greats as The Coral, The Verve and early Oasis by such new music champions as BBC introducing where they were given the accolade of Record of The Week.

Aside from regularly featuring on BBC Introducing and expanding their live presence across the UK, captivating fans with their signature melodic guitar riffs, vocal melodies and rumbling bass lines, The Mease are putting plans into action to release their much anticipated debut album on the 23rd September 2022.

The Mease  are well known for their signature catchy riffs and vocal melodies that will stick in your head for days. Lyrically, frontman Tristan Cooper takes inspiration from everyday experiences, be it struggling to make it home from drunken nights out or the fallout from local tragedies. The story is always told from a bittersweet, personal perspective.

The latest single in a string of highly critically acclaimed releases from the band and the lead single from the upcoming album release,  is the politically charged, yet somehow completely feel good anthem of ‘Long, Long Road’.

The single is being released digitally on Friday 2nd September and has already established itself as a firm fan favorite when performed live.

‘Long, Long Road’ showcases yet another dimension to this talented band. It’s a positively summery antithetic pop tune with its happy go lucky guitar riffs and the nostalgic vibe of the vocals. I can imagine listening to this track on a summer’s day during the wholesome ‘golden hour’ surrounded by friends and loved ones having the best time making happy memories: yep it’s one of those tracks for sure, but it’s also got a message to tell.

The band have said about the new single:

“Political undertones run throughout, despite the chirpy, riff-laden guitars and upbeat vocal melodies. “The world’s on fire but they don’t care, just as long as they’re taking the lion’s share.” It’s a song that channels the spirit of the band that sank with the Titanic. Lead guitarist Guy Smith said, “If we’re all going to perish as the planet goes up in flames, and our leaders aren’t going to do anything about it, then we might as well keep rocking all the way to the bitter end!”

‘Long, Long Road’ was written by Tristan Cooper and was Recorded, mixed and produced by Tom J. Bath at UTC Studios in Stoke-on-Trent.
