A four-month-old baby was taken to hospital after being “knocked unconscious” during a row between two men in a pub in Plymouth.

Emergency services were called to The Colebrook Inn, Plympton, at around 2pm on Sunday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a man in the pub was pushed and fell onto a woman holding the baby.

The four-month-old is “believed to have been knocked unconscious when its head hit the table”, the force said.

The youngster was taken to hospital for treatment for a minor head injury and has since been discharged.

A man in his 70s was assaulted during the incident after he was pushed by another man, police said.

No arrests have been made and detectives are investigating.
